La Fontana is an Italian restaurant at 124 Parade Quay, Waterford — on the waterfront, a short walk from the Viking Triangle, Reginald's Tower and the Medieval Museum.
The idea has always been simple: cook Italian food properly, serve it in a room that feels good to sit in, and look after everyone who walks through the door. That's why so many of our tables are filled by people who came last month, and the month before.
The kitchen keeps to what Italy does best — pasta made and cooked to order, pizza from the oven, fish from the south-east coast, Irish beef and lamb handled without fuss. The wine list is short, Italian and chosen to go with the food rather than to impress.
Waterford visitors find us on the way back from the Viking Triangle; locals find us for birthdays, anniversaries and Friday nights. Both are equally welcome, and both usually stay longer than planned.
